Health is a gameplay element in I Am Alive.

Health is what keeps the Protagonist alive during the events of the game. If depleted completely, the character dies and the game returns the player to their last checkpoint.
The player's health bar can run empty in multiple ways, commonly by being shot or climbing past the limit of their Stamina bar. The quicker the Protagonist moves after his Stamina is depleted, the faster his health depletes. Three gunshots can kill the Protagonist if the player is not careful.
To restore Health nearly completely, a First Aid Kit and any type of Meat will work, though the latter is not recommended by the game. Food Cans, Tomatoes, and Fruit Cocktails also restore partial heal Health.
